Thud falls the coconut
Manas and Srilaxmi’s wedding was an elaborate affair. Held in the port city of Vizag, amidst the ceremonies and games the couple made it all the more enjoyable for us by performing their rituals with effortless grace. Right from Srilaxmi being taken to Manas in an adorable lotus bamboo basket to stealing timid glances at each other after the curtain of flowers was taken down, we couldn’t get over this cute couple.
Today, before the sun set, it said to me, "while I'm gone, you will shine as bright as me."
.."the night will be lit up by your smile and flowers will bloom on your long plait."
Today, when I took a moment to look at the moon, it reassured me - "your big eyes filled with questions and surrounded by the night with this kajal; the answers are not with me, but I know where they are."
I look at you tonight
the questions fade away
as we shower rice over each other I think of a beautiful life filled with such laughter and play
To share tonight with loved ones
bonding with every distant relative
getting to know my new family
the joy has doubled, the warmth embraced
